Approval for health and wellbeing campus business case welcomed

A new state of the art health and wellbeing campus in Newtown has taken a significant step forward following endorsement from Welsh Government.

 

A Programme Business Case (PBC) had earlier been submitted to Welsh Government by the North Powys Wellbeing (NPWB) Programme highlighting the benefits of bringing together health and wellbeing services onto a single site adjacent to Park Street in Newtown. Endorsement for this business case was announced by First Minister Mark Drakeford MS in the Senedd yesterday (Tuesday March 15th ) who noted the important milestone in the project. (More)

New service to help people with ‘sleep hygiene’
January 31, 2022

Thousands of adults in Powys could be suffering from undiagnosed sleep apnoea, according to a local specialist.

Kim Lewis, Specialised Respiratory Physiologist (pictured) with Powys Teaching Health Board runs a new service to help patients with the condition, with funding provided by the North Powys Wellbeing Programme. (More)

Support facility to help people attend online medical consultations

Service to help people with online video healthcare appointments rolled out

November 16, 2021

A new service designed to help people attend online video healthcare appointments is now up and running in Powys.

Using funding from the North Powys Wellbeing (NPWB) Programme, two Digital Facilitators have been taken on to provide advice and support to those people who need support to attend online video appointments, using the bespoke Attend Anywhere system or Microsoft Teams. (More)

Views sought on early ideas for health and wellbeing campus in central Newtown

November 10, 2021

People within North Powys are being asked for their views on early plans for a multi-agency health and wellbeing campus in Newtown.

 

An online survey has been launched by the North Powys Wellbeing Programme, asking for feedback on early ideas to bring together health and social care, library services, supported housing, shared community space and a health and care academy alongside the planned new school building for Ysgol Calon y Dderwen in the centre of town. The programme’s Integrated Model of Care and Wellbeing sets out a vision of how health and care services in the north of the county can be transformed. (More)
